No Dairy

As you know, or maybe you don’t know, Sprite has been having issues in preschool.  Drop off is still difficult and she has had a melt down every day at lunch time.  Toward the end of last week I was thinking about how we figured out that Emily had problems when she drank dairy and how her behavior improved when we removed dairy from her diet.  I had noticed that Sprite’s tummy was always a bit bloated and with her having so many meltdowns I decided it wouldn’t hurt to try taking dairy out of her diet.

On Saturday I started giving Sprite almond milk.  Yesterday drop off was fine, and she did great the whole day.  No issues at lunch time.  Today, drop off was just as easy (minimal fussing) and Sprite’s teacher told me that she was so social, especially at lunch time.  Sprite was even chatting up a friend after school, trying to arrange a play date.  I don’t know if it’s the dairy for sure, but this has been quite a change.  We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

  1. Wow! You’ve told me more than once that there is a night-and-day difference in CB’s behavior when she has dairy vs. when she doesn’t, so good call! I hope you’ve hit on something that will mostly solve the problems Sprite has been having with adjusting to school.
