January 12, 2011 – Spanish Rice

Tea Time

I’ve had some requests for my Spanish Rice recipe so here it is.


2 Tablespoons vegetable oil

1 Cup rice

1/2 Cup Minced Onion

2 Garlic Cloves Minced

1 8 oz. Can Tomato Sauce

1 Cup (a little over a cup actually) Water

Salt & Pepper to taste

In a medium sized sauce pan heat oil.  Add rice.  Brown rice, stirring frequently.  Once rice is browned take off of heat and stir in the onion, then garlic.  Give onion and garlic time to cook (about a minute or two), then add Tomato Sauce and Water.  Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover.  Cook for 20 minutes.  Add salt (and pepper if desired) to taste.
