I was just thinking about a night spent with my parents, brother and his wife.  I was very pregnant with Clarabelle and suffering through a multitude of braxton hicks.  Fish was away on a business trip and I was spending time at my parents house, just in case I went into labor.

We had all decided to go out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse.  I don’t know what was in the air that night but everything seemed so funny.  One thing after another left us struggling for breath through laughter.  My mom was adding to the hilarity with a looks of confusion throughout the evening.  For whatever reason, she kept having a hard time understanding what we were talking about and every time she would question what we were saying, all we could do was laugh.  In retrospect, we probably all appeared to be drunk.  I remember my stomach tightening to a rock hard state and me begging everyone to stop because I thought my stomach was about to explode.

It’s been over 8 years now since that night and to this day, whenever any of us brings that night up, we cannot remember what was so ding dong funny.  Maybe we were all just having one of those great days, or maybe we were all having a crummy day and just needed to laugh like we’ve never laughed before.  Whatever it was, it was awesome.  Just a day in the life where everyone was happy to be with each other.  I’m glad it happened.
