Sunday

Day 2 of room switch.  The girls were awesome.  Nobody woke before 7:30 a.m. and everyone seems happy with the new arrangement.  We completed the room with a new TV that has horrible sound so we’ll be returning that for another one.  I’m kind of bummed about that.  I wanted everything to be completed by today so we could have the tv hooked up to dish this week.  The quality of sound was so bad, that we couldn’t ignore it.  My parents had a tv for years that worked the same way and it drove us all batty.  The music was always super loud while any dialogue was impossible to hear.  No thank you!  Sooo, by the end of this next week we should be all done.

The girls already love it and spent most of the day in there playing and hanging out.

I still need to write about an event I went to on Friday with Brenda and CC.    If I don’t get a chance to write in more detail, I’d like to say that I had an amazing time.  It was hosted and attended by a group of wonderful people.  I wish I wasn’t so shy in that type of setting.  Even more impressive, I didn’t have to be part of a high powered clique OR fill out an application to attend.  Shocking but true!

  1. Oh! We have a new TV that has the same problem with loud music/soft dialogue, but there is a way to fix it! There is a mode called “Theater mode” and when that is turned on, the sound is much more balanced. There might be such a trick with your new TV so you don’t have to return it! Has Fish messed with the settings at all? Our remote actually has a button on it labeled “Theater” so it’s super easy to fix! Troy says, if it’s a Sony it probably has a Theater Mode. He also says, flat-screen TVs–thin LCD TVs–are just notorious for having bad sound because it’s hard to get good speakers in a TV that small. A lot of people will buy soundbars and that helps fix the problem too. 🙂

But how awesome that they alll slept till 7:30 and it’s going well! Woohoo!

  2. i’m sorry i didn’t start “following” you (or found you for that matter!) before now or i might have been able to attend this event with you! i’m not sure where in s. cal it was but living in san diego it couldn’t have been too far…look forward to hearing all about it!
